(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 25 – Spain is the country in the world with
the largest number of health professionals infected with
coronavirus, according to available official data. El writes it
Pais. A report released Thursday by the European Center for
Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC) highlights that
while 20% of the cases registered in Spain concern this
group, in Italy this percentage drops to 10%, although in
Lombardy, the epicenter of the epidemic in the country, the percentage is
even 20%. In the United States, infected health care workers reach out
barely 3% and in China they stand at 3.8%.
Although the ECDC study collects data with a few days of
delay (that of Spain is collected by a study by the Center
national epidemiology reported on April 21), the trend
to the upside among healthcare workers in Spain continues. The
Ministry of Health reported yesterday that infections between
doctors and nurses now amount to 35,295, 940 more than
on Thursday.
