The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States confirms this morning (Sunday) that over the past 24 hours 1,623 people have died of the Corona virus, as well as 30,181 additional cases of infection. This raises the number of victims in the United States to 50,439 and the number of infected to 895,766 since the outbreak began.
Meanwhile, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Trump officials are discussing replacing US Secretary of Health and Social Services Alex Azar.
However, government officials have emphasized that the White House is hesitant at this point to replace it, despite the apparent disappointment with its functioning, which has been expressed repeatedly by President Donald Trump over the past few weeks.
Mexico’s health minister, a neighbor to the south of the US, has confirmed that 84 people have died in the country over the past 24 hours, as well as 970 new cases of infection. By doing so, the total number of victims in the country rises to 1,305, and the number of confirmed patients to 13,842 since the outbreak began. The minister also added that in his estimation “the actual number of infected persons is significantly greater than the figures published by the authorities.”
