The effects of port and airport closure to passenger traffic

SASSARI. The closure of ports and airports is not entirely hermetic: someone continues to leave and arrive, but it is mainly a matter of movements linked to Sardinian returns, which in some cases continue with some difficulties. From 15 to 26 March 11,156 people arrived on the island while 3,090 departures. The peak of arrivals occurred on March 15th with almost two thousand people who landed in Sardinia in a single day. The new arrivals are in voluntary isolation and are distributed in almost all the centers of the island (about forty Municipalities are white areas, without even one person in precautionary quarantine.

The bulk of those who wait at home for the period of isolation is higher in the major centers: in Cagliari and Sassari there are in fact, according to estimates released yesterday by the Region, over 400 people in this state. The great assault in the days of the exodus from Northern Italy to the coastal resorts of the island has therefore stopped and the controls of the police are still trying, day after day, to monitor the presence of people who have arrived from those who at that time they were risk areas, then extended to the whole national territory. Now you can only get to the island after careful checks, also due to the closure of ports to passenger traffic and two of the three airports.
