The club brings seven players to the door, including the former Inter defender
There is a heavy climate within the Liege Standard. The Belgian club has submitted a proposal for a temporary reduction in the wages of its players. The majority of the group agreed, but seven refused the club’s proposal. Former Nerazzurri Zinho Vanheusden is one of the players who turned down the salary cut. The defender did not accept a reduction in salary, equal to 3,250 euros gross. The Standard was clear: accept the proposal or be fired. The seven players who have refused to date are technically unemployed. Vanheusden’s agent Stijn Francis, speaking of the situation that has arisen with the club, said: “Standard made a proposal that was rejected by several players, including Zinho. They launched a counter proposal (giving up a month’s salary but with the certainty that the club will not put anyone on the door for reasons of force majeure in June) which was not accepted. So a communication problem emerged. I still hope that a solution will be found. ”
