EASTER 2020, URBI ET ORBI BLESSING

As seen then already in the moment of the extraordinary prayer in St. Peter’s Square empty on March 27th, the Holy Father will entrust the invocation to the Madonna and the Risen Jesus to end the coronavirus pandemic: it will do so through the message “Urbi et Orbi”, or “to the city and the world”. It is one of the oldest prayers in the history of the Church and reflects the humble request for divine mercy that may descend on man’s torn heart; with the Urbi et Orbi Blessing the Church grants to all the faithful the possibility of remission of all sins and the tragedies due and connected to them.
