Antonello Calvi, from Sassari, born in 1958, was struck by a heart attack while he was in a hotel in Madagascar, which he had reached on Saturday for the usual holiday he allowed himself every year. Doctors tried to revive him but it was all in vain.

Calvi concentrated all the holidays in a month. He had been to Cambodia, South Africa, Vietnam and South America. Last year he had gone to Madagascar and this year he wanted to go back to visit the part of the African island he hadn’t seen yet.

He was also a journalist, a well-known face of the Sassari television Antenna 1. His brother Alberto is sent by Rai, his sister Gloria photographer for L’Unione Sarda.

Family members are in contact with the Italian embassy to find out when the body will be brought back to Sardinia.
