VENICE. A background in the coronavirus emergency which risks creating a political tsunami. The 5-star Movement attacks the president of the Veneto Region with a straight leg pointing the finger at him and on his right arm on the health front, the regional secretary Domenico Mantoan.

“The protagonist is once again Domenico Mantoan, the untouchable head of Venetian health care, Zaia’s right-hand man, so trusted that he was placed – precisely by the will of the governor – at the head of AIFA, the national drug agency.

The Padua Health Authority, concerned about the numerous returns of citizens from China, he had expressed his intention in early February to keep his guard as high as possible, by testing for the presence of coronavirus even on subjects who did not show any symptoms.

One more scruple compared to the provisions of the Ministry circular, but Mantoan instead of raising the alarm and understanding how to collaborate with the Paduan health company, on February 12 he sent a letter with threatening tones on the regional government’s headed paper with which, in essence, forbade the Padua ASL to proceed with the checks, claiming that nothing had to be done that was not in line with what was established by the Ministry.

Unfortunately, we know the rest well: the Padua outbreak of coronavirus exploded in Padua which has already caused the death of an infected person.

And to think that while Zaia’s trusted man prevented a gesture of prevention that perhaps could have saved lives, Zaia himself claimed that the Venetian health care was ready to face any situation and that everything necessary had been prepared.

Not to mention his boss Salvini, who filled the social networks with attacks on the government, claimed that not enough was being done and that someone should have responded to it in front of the citizens: exactly what was happening in “his” Veneto!

Now Zaia answer what happened, Starting – perhaps – with removing Mantoan once and for all and the Councilor for Health Lanzarin, direct hierarchical manager.

And do not say that we are exploiting the emergency for political purposes, because these we are talking about are facts of which we have and immediately exhibit the evidence.
