The judgment of inadmissibility that has been discussed above concerns the amendment on the liberalization of cannabis light, a norm to which the center-right had always opposed. The amendment, presented by two senators of the 5 Star Movement, foresaw the use "in dried, fresh, chopped or pelletized form for industrial, commercial and energy purposes" of cannabis in which the content of tetrahydrocannabinol (Thc) was less than 0 , 5 percent. If the rule had not been blocked, the sale and production of the so-called cannabis light, which today can be marketed in Italy but with many limits and prohibitions, would have been liberalized.
As for the budget law, this morning the government announced its intention to put the vote on confidence, expected for today. After approval in the Senate, the budget law will have to pass to the Chamber for a second reading and it is likely that the law will not be open to changes so that the approval of the Chamber can be the final one and arrive before December 31, avoiding to the State to enter a "provisional budget year" period.
