Ski, Cdm: Kriechmayr wins the Super-G in Val Gardena, Paris fifth

VAL GARDENA – In a nightmare Super G, made very complicated by a long series of fog suspensions, Vincent Kriechmayr gets on the highest step of the Val Gardena podium. The Austrian won on Kjetil Jansrud, second at 0 ″ 05 from the time trial of 1’13 ″ 84 of the winner, and on Thomas Dressen, third at 0 ″ 22. Fifth, and better than the Italians, Dominik Paris, who finished at 0 ″ 36. The other Italians who finished the race are Mattia Casse (fifteenth), Emanuele Buzzi (thirty-third, for him three hours of waiting) and Matteo Marsaglia (thirty-fourth). The race

With two interruptions and a race spread over almost four hours, with sixteen athletes who failed to take part in the test, Kriechmayr celebrates, in a shortened track of about 15 seconds compared to the original one. "It wasn't the best – confesses Dominik Paris – but here I am not very lucky, we see tomorrow how it will go downhill. The interruption did not help, much downhill will depend on time and luck. God knows how it will end ". Paris was ready to get off the gate when it was stopped, a stop lasting about 45 minutes. Flavio Roda, president of Fisi, echoes this: "These interruptions are not good for the athletes, it would have been more important to have continuity but nothing can be done with the weather".
