TEHRAN – An angry mob under the seat of the sports ministry. Esteghlal fans in the square this morning in Tehran after the farewell of Andrea Stramaccioni, considered the architect of the triumphal ride of the capital team, first in the ranking in the Iranian championship. The Roman coach, who arrived last summer, unilaterally resolved the contract yesterday, accusing the Iranian company of failing to fulfill its contractual obligations: both the former Inter coach and his staff members would not receive their salary for several months.

President Fathi resigns, Stramaccioni has already left

The classic drop that caused the vase to overflow given the difficulties encountered so far by Stramaccioni, from the lack of an interpreter on the bench in the first race to expired tourist visa which prevented him from returning to Italy in August. Despite everything, however, the Esteghlal managed to reach the top of the rankings and also for this reason, on the web and then under the club's headquarters, the protest of the supporters against the society began, to the point of forcing President Amir Hossein Fathi to resign. The club, for its part, announced in a note that the non-payment of salaries was caused by bureaucratic problems and that it plans to meet Stramaccioni to try to reach an agreement.

Part of the "blocked" staff in Iran

According to rumors in the Iranian press, the technician would have left Tehran overnight along with his deputy Sebastian Leto, while the rest of his staff is still in Iran and has not yet been authorized to leave the country. The situation, therefore, is very delicate and risks degenerating accomplices also the disorders of the last weeks due to social tensions. Today's Eseghlal game could be played behind closed doors.
