BOLOGNA – Franco Janich has also left. Another figurine that flies away from the most beautiful page in the history of Bologna, that of the legendary Italian champion team of 1964 that "played like in paradise". He was one of the protagonists of the play-off which saw the Rossoblu defeat Herrera at the Olimpico on 7 June 1964. In addition to the Scudetto he also won an Italian Cup and a Mitropa Cup in his Bolognese career.Janich, a rough defender nicknamed the Armeri in dialect (the wardrobe), was 82 years old. Born in Udine, he played in rossoblu for eleven seasons from 1961 to 1972, collecting a total of 376 appearances (295 in Serie A) without the joy of a goal, but only to have avoided hundreds. He is eighth in the ranking of all-time appearances in Bologna.
Born in Udine on 27 March 1937 and raised as a stopper in the Spilimbergo in the IV Series, he made his debut in Serie A with Atalanta before moving to Bernardini's Lazio with which he won an Italian Cup. It is precisely the Roman coach who wants him at Bologna at the time of his passage on the Rossoblu bench. And at Bologna, Janich retreats his range of action, transforming himself into a free and forming with Tumburus a pair of imperforable power plants.Big and big, good in the advance, formidable of head, the fans appreciate not only the qualities on the field, but also the wit and the sympathy with which he conquers all. Having settled in Nemi, in the Lazio countryside, Janich often returned under the Two Towers.

In the National team he played six games, closing his experience at the '66 World Championships like many other Azzurri when Italy was "overwhelmed" by the shame of elimination by North Korea.

As a manager, he was general manager of Naples in two distinct periods, from 1972 to 1976 and again from 1978 to 1980; in between, he was a sports director in Como for a year, returning to the same role at Lazio. Later he worked as a diesse of Triestina and Bari.
