LISBON – Greta Thunberg arrived in Lisbon, Portugal. After twenty days at sea, La Vagabonde, the 14-meter catamaran docked around 1.45 pm on the quay of the marina in the Portuguese capital, where several dozen environmentalists had been waiting for several hours. The next stop will be Madrid where it will participate in COP25, the United Nations world climate conference. The young activist who fights against climate change has not yet decided how she will reach the Spanish capital: one of the possibilities is the night train. The Swedish activist had left the US on a catamaran on November 13, immediately after Chile had given up the event for reasons of public order. The South American country was in the most acute phase of the social crisis, with street demonstrations lasting weeks, in which at least 22 people died and hundreds were injured. Greta had been to the UN Assembly, still traveling by sea, and found herself taken aback by moving the COP25 to Madrid. The conference will close on December 13 in the Spanish capital.
