ROME – After the enthusiasm for the trio of European victories, in the Champions League debut, Conegliano, Scandicci and Novara are back to challenge each other for the championship. The eighth day of Serie A, will face just two of the three participants in the continental tournament: Imoco and Savino del Bene. Both come from a 3-2 success in the Champions League, but with different connotations, because the Venetians have struggled to overcome, at home, a weaker lineup like the Hungarians of Vasas Budapest, while the women from Tuscany had a huge injection of trust by bending the battleship Vakifbank Istanbul in Turkey. However, it must be said that Imoco is still unbeaten in the European Championship, Italian Super Cup and competition and it certainly cannot be an opaque performance, more than anything on the mental plane, to make people believe that difficulties have arisen suddenly in the Veneto region. Scandicci, however, is going through a magical moment and it seems that the recovery of the Tuscan women, predicted by the Conegliano coach Daniele Santarelli, is coming, so the challenge is far from obvious. Winners in Europe, with a net 3-0, were also the champions of Novara. More important than success, however, was the rediscovery of Jovana Brakocevic for the Igor Gorgonzola: the Serbian opposition was the best scorer of the evening with 20 points. With her in full form, the Piedmontese are able to try to get closer to Conegliano, already on the run, perhaps starting from this turn against Monza. La Saugella, however, is a tough opponent and, even if he lives a bit of ups and downs, he comes from two consecutive successes, including the one traveling to Casalmaggiore. L'Èpiu Pomì has already made up for the defeat of the last round, beating Chieri 3-0 in the day's advance, played Wednesday. In the second advance of the day, Saturday, there will be another team in great growth, Busto Arsizio. After a broken start, the Unet E-work has now reached the third position despite the free holder, Giulia Leonardi, has not yet returned from the accident. The Lombards will face Cuneo, who goes through a bad period and comes from four consecutive defeats. Immediately behind Busto there is Florence, until now the protagonist of a great championship, but that will have to recover from the bad blow suffered in the Tuscan derby, lost 3-0 against Scandicci. The challenge with Bergamo, which is stationed in the low ranking with 7 points, is an opportunity not to be missed for the Bisonte. Chance to be exploited also for Brescia that, after an incredible start, has fallen in level in the last games and does not win by three rounds: Banca Valsabbina will host Filottrano, third last, but will have to pay attention anyway because Lardini comes from the good success against Chieri. The queue clash between Caserta and Perugia will close the round. The Golden Tulip Volalto seemed to have been released between the end of October and the beginning of November, but in the two very difficult commitments that followed, with Busto and Novara, the bells remained dry and now they will try to start from this challenge-salvation. Opposite path for the Umbrian mountains which, thanks to a furious Rosamaria Montibeller, won four points in the last two meetings.
