Volkswagen ID. Space Vizzion: the first sketches

BERLINA AND STATION – After the announcement of the presentation of a new concept car with sedan bodywork, belonging to the ID family, therefore equipped with the electric motor, scheduled for the 2019 Los Angeles Motor Show (here the news), now the Volkswagen confirms a second prototype for the Californian festival. It is about ID. Space Vizzion, which could be the station wagon version of the aforementioned sedan (a bit like Passat and Passat Variant for instance). Both will be quick on November 19th.

THE SKIN .. SA OF APPLE – From the sketches Volkswagen ID. Space Vizzion it looks rather low and stringy, with very minimalist sides and details. Even the design of the passenger compartment highlights an essential simplicity of design with a dashboard practically without keys that "supports" the large screen of the multimedia system. Some interior materials will be of natural origin, such as artificial leather partly obtained from the waste of apple fruit juice processing (it's called Apple Skin).

WE WILL SEE YOU IN 2021 – The German company has anticipated that the prototype is based on the MEB platform for electric cars, the same as the Volkswagen sedan ID.3, and is able to travel 590 kilometers with a battery charge, a very generous distance obtained also by means of a careful study of aerodynamic flows. The standard version of the Volkswagen ID. Space Vizzion will be in dealerships from 2021, with differences depending on whether it is sold in China, Europe or North America.
