Nightmare night for high water a Venice and in Chioggia. In the historic center planned one full of 170 centimeters, to Chioggia the sea level has reached 170 centimeters at 21.45, then it has started to drop by one centimeter every five minutes. In the morning, in Punta della Salute, in front of Saint Mark, the peak of flood had stopped at 127 centimeters, or 13 centimeters below the forecast of Tidal Center which was 140 centimeters, by pulling one temporary sigh of relief to the inhabitants. But only because the atmospheric disturbance that is breaking down on the Adriatic has been delayed by a few hours.

With the complicity of the sirocco and the rain, the situation is then worsened. And so the forecasts were gradually changed during the afternoon. At first the nocturnal flood was indicated in 145 centimeters, but with the passage of time the figure was retouched in growth, until it stabilized on a forecast of 170 centimeters for 23. At 21, with 128 centimeters measured at Punta della Salute , has been exceeded the morning level. Then a continuous crescendo, from 3 to 5 centimeters every five minutes. At 9.20pm: 138cm. At 21.30: 143 centimeters. At 9.40 pm: 147 centimeters. At 21.50: 152 centimeters. At 22: 156 centimeters. At 10.10 pm the level rose to 164 centimeters.

It is a exceptional level, considering the worst high waters that have been recorded since 1966 on. November 4th 1966 was the disaster for the Lagoon with 194 centimeters; on 22 December 1979 the water reached i 166 centimeters; on 1 February 1986 the 158 centimeters; December 1, 2008 the 156 centimeters and October 29, 2018 the same level. On Wednesday morning at 10.25 a tide of 150 centimeters was estimated, somehow a replica of the night of fear for Venice.
