            &lt;! - <EdIndex> -&gt;<p><img style="float: left;" src="http://www.soldionline.it/pictures/2019/05/10/unipolsai_1.jpeg" alt="unipolsai_1" width="200" /><strong>UnipolSAI</strong> has released the results of the first nine months of 2019, period closed with a<strong> normalized net profit </strong>(excluding the non-recurring charges deriving from the agreements signed with the trade unions relating to the solidarity fund and other forms of incentives for the exodus) <strong>amounting to 576 million euros</strong>, up 1.8% compared to the normalized result and on a like-for-like basis of 566 million recorded in the first three quarters of the previous year. The reported net result was € 509 million, up from € 862 million in the first nine months of 2018, which included a capital gain of € 309 million due to the sale of the stake in Popolare Vita.

Direct insurance premiums (before reinsurance cessions) rose from € 8.11 billion to € 10.01 billion (+ 23.4%), following the improvement recorded by life premiums (+ 39.9% to 4.28 billion euros).

Shareholders' equity reported at the end of September amounted to 7 billion euros, compared to 5.7 billion at the beginning of the year. Also at the end of September, the individual solvency index (parameter indicating the capital solidity of the insurance companies) was equal to 278% of the required capital, up from 253% at the beginning of the year. At the same date, the consolidated solvency ratio based on economic capital was 249% (202% at December 31, 2018).

The UnipolSAI top management reported that in the first nine months of 2019 the company's financial investments achieved a return equal to 3.6% of the invested assets, of which 3.4% related to the coupon component and dividends falling compared to 4% from the same period last year.
