As is known, the Miur has two different programs competitions for secondary and secondary school teachers (to which one will follow, now near, for the kindergarten and primary school) for the total recruitment of approx 50,000 permanent teachers.
There will be a extraordinary competition, reserved for teachers who have already completed three years of service (in the last eight) as substitutes, to which is added an ordinary competition open to all those who have obtained a valid degree for the purpose of enrolling in a competition class (in addition to the 24 CFU in the anthropo-psycho-pedagogical disciplines and in didactic methodologies and technologies).
The intention is that the two competitions will be banned simultaneously, but in the last few hours the Minister of Education has intervened to clarify this news.
As reported by Minister Fioramonti – who replied to journalists on the sidelines of a conference at the LUISS University in Rome – in fact, priority will be given (at least in the performance) to the extraordinary school competition, so as to allow the use of the relative merit rankings already for the next school year.
Extraordinary school competition, call for tenders: that's when
The intentions of MIUR were to publish the call for tenders for the extraordinary school competition already in the month of November 2019; however the delays in the publication in the Official Gazette of the decree salvaprecari (in which this selection is regulated) have involved one skidding of the times.
With the delays set aside, with the signature of the President of the Republic who arrived last week, the MIUR is ready to continue the process that will lead to the definition of the call for tenders for the extraordinary competition; the objective – declared by Fioramonti – is to have around 2020-2021 for the school year 24,000 full-time professors to be able to insert in schools.
This is why the competition announcement will be published "in the early months of 2020”, So that all the procedures necessary for the definition of the merit rankings can be completed in time for the 1 September 2020.
Ordinary school competition: call for tenders at the same time, but recruitment postponed
For what concern ordinary school competition additional considerations must be made.
In detail, Minister Fioramonti confirmed that the tender will come published simultaneously with that of the extraordinary competition, but at the same time explained that the merit rankings in this case they cannot be used for the role entries for the academic year 2020-2021, but only for the following year.
This is because the ordinary competition in addition to providing a series of additional tests will also cover one wider audience of beneficiaries.
Therefore, for these other 24,000 new jobs, we will have to wait longer; we remember, in fact, that this will be the first ordinary competition after so many years do not provide for teaching qualifications as a fundamental requirement for participation purposes.
This should inevitably lead to an enlargement of the audience of candidates for the role, with competition times that are expected to be quite long.
