Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.1 has been announced yesterday from Red Hat. This first point release comes about six months later Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (RHEL 8).

Developers can more easily configure firewall rules and system services through Red Hat Enterprise Linux web console. It also improves support for importing virtual images qcow, present the possibility to pause virtual machines. The number of configuration options in the Image Builder is growing.

Introduced support for new image formats used by various cloud platforms such as Alibaba Cloud and Google Cloud Platform and for new languages, including Golang and .NET Core. Present new tools like eBPF (extended version of Berkeley Packet Filter) and XDP (eXpress Data Path).
