With 1,657 units sold in early 2019, the Renault Zoe is at the top of the Italian rankings with regards to electric propulsion car. To keep her company on the podium Model 3 of the Tesla, at an altitude of 1,164, and the Smart Fortwo EQ, with 1,050 machines registered. Figures still small for a market still dominated by endothermic engines, but the percentage progress remains important and the total fleet of full electric vehicles on the national territory is close to 17,000 units.

The analysis of the month of September instead tells of the Tesla Model 3 at the top of the ranking, followed by the Nissan Leaf and from the Smart Fortwo EQ. Data that underline however a progress still timid if the comparison extends to the rest of Europe. The most virtuous nation remains Norway which, thanks to very strict laws for sustainable mobility, detaches the rest of the world with 39.2% of the market devoted to the purchase of electric cars, while in Italy the percentage is still just over 0.5% over the first nine months and 0.9% in September.
