Devoured by a shark while swimming in the waters of the island of Runion, French territory off the coast of Madagascar. It would be the fate of a 44-year-old Scottish tourist who was on vacation with his wife. What is known is that the man had disappeared Saturday morning and since then was sought by local law enforcement, with boats and a helicopter. In the last few hours for the dramatic discovery: in the stomach of a tiger shark, found dead on the beach, a finger was found with the wedding ring still attached. Which would be proper to the tourist, at least according to the first recognition made by the wife (as reported The Sun).

A plague

In Runion, shark attacks are not uncommon. This week a shark was spotted near a busy beach and was killed because it is considered a threat. However, according to estimates by local authorities, this would be the eleventh deadly attack by a shark since 2011; while 24 are in all the attacks that have led to at least one injury. The question is so felt that last month, during his official visit to the country, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that his government is doing everything to address the shark crisis in the area.
