Severe bad weather with risk of storms in the South

Between Tuesday and Wednesday a strong wave of bad weather is expected caused by aintense disturbance (the number 5 of the month) that will cross our Peninsula: therefore it will rain on all the regions, with the risk of real storms especially in Sicily, Calabria, Basilicata and Puglia, especially in the ionic sectors. Meanwhile, the depression associated with the disturbance, currently centered west of Sardinia, moving slowly towards the Tyrrhenian Sea, will cause anexcellent wind and wave motion reinforcing with gusts on the central-southern basinsi, could reach 100 Km / h. In particular, for Tuesday the Civil Protection issued Red Alert for hydraulic risk on Calabria and Sicily, Red Alert for hydrogeological risk on Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily. Orange alert for hydraulic risk, temporal risk and hydrogeological risk on Basilicata, Calabria, Puglia and Sicily. The situation will remain busy and at times very rainy even in the second part of the week, due to the 6th month disturbance, expected between Thursday and Friday on the central-northern regions.

Weather forecast for Tuesday. Tuesday clouds throughout Italy, with gradual spells that will involve only the extreme Northwest. Rainfall spread over almost all regions except Valle d’Aosta, Piemonte and Ponente Ligure; local showers and thunderstorms also intense in the south and on the major islands. In the evening, a tendency to intensify phenomena in the North-East. Heavy snowfall in the central-eastern alpine area over 1200-1500 meters but with lowering in the evening. Intense winds, locally also stormy, on all the seas, with storm surges on the Ionian coasts and southern Sicily; high water in Venice with a peak of 140 cm in mid-morning it's a second peak of 145 cm in the late evening. Our forecast for Tuesday has an average Reliability Index (IdA 70-80).

Weather forecast for Wednesday. Wednesday in the morning scattered rainfall on the Northeast regions, snowy above 600-1000 m; isolated rains in the inner areas of the Center, showers and possible thunderstorms in the area of ​​the lower Tyrrhenian and in the Salento; large clearings in the North-West. Between afternoon and evening phenomena in attenuation and exhaustion on the peninsular and North-East regions. From the evening the rains return to Sardinia, in a subsequent extension towards the Tyrrhenian area. Temperatures: falling almost everywhere in the minimum values, maximum slightly in the South and on the islands. Winds: still strong or very strong at the beginning of the day in the South and on the islands, in partial gradual attenuation from the evening.
