MILAN – Unicredit gives Mediobanca a final farewell. Taking advantage of the stock market rally in recent weeks, driven by the entry into the capital of the Milanese entrepreneur Leonardo Del Vecchio, the Unicredit group has decided to sell on the market the entire share of Piazzetta Cuccia in its possession. This is 8.4% of Mediobanca's shares. The decision, says a note from the institute led by French manager Jean Pierre Mustier, is "in line with the strategy of selling non-strategic assets".Explaining the operation, Unicredit stresses that "it is committed to supporting the real economy of its various markets" and that "the proceeds of the sale" will be reinvested in the development of its clients' activities ".
