At the moment, none of the operators has automatically reimbursed customers, who will instead have to request them in the manner communicated through the official websites and in the latest invoices. For this reason it seems that the AGCOM has communicated to the operators the start of a new sanctioning procedure, whose final decision should reach February 2020.
To obtain reimbursements for billing at 28 days, at the moment customers will have to roll up their sleeves and proceed independently following the instructions below.
TIM
Tim customers can request a refund starting in September by contacting the fixed-line customer service at 187 or, already from today, by making the request through the MyTIM web area. The company specifies that customers who have stopped using the fixed line after June 23, 2017 can also request it.
Vodafone
All fixed and convergent network customers can request a refund by connecting to the dedicated page and filling in the relevant form. The amount will be returned by re-crediting in three invoices over six months. However, be careful: at the time of writing, the methods communicated by Vodafone refer exclusively to active customers.
Wind Tre
Here the procedure is similar to that of the previous operator: interested customers can go to their customer area on the official website and choose between the reimbursement of eroded days or one of the alternative compensation solutions proposed by the operator. After completing the form, the reimbursement will be made by reversing the invoice.
Fastweb
The customers of this operator can request refunds for billing at 28 days through the MyFastweb area on the official website. From here you can select the classic repayment option with credit to the first invoice or, as a compensatory measure, the company gives you six months of Ultrafibra, the Verso Mobile Semper option (5000 minutes per month for national mobile numbers) or International option (1000 minutes per month to landlines from 60 international destinations).
Some clarifications
We remind you that reimbursements for 28-day billing can be requested by landline or converged users who have paid their invoices for 28 days from June 2017 to April 2018, while there is no reimbursement right for all customers after this date .
Finally, it is not clear how the customers who, in the meantime, have changed operators must behave. Indeed, the policies adopted change from one operator to another and it is not always expected. For customers in this category, we recommend contacting customer service and asking for information.
