Poweramp is one of the older apps – that still receives updates – of the Android ecosystem. The music player in fact exists almost from the beginning and has been very popular in the past. Over the years, however, listening to music has gone from being focused on local content to online streaming. In this Poweramp was left behind outclassed by services like Spotify, refusing to adapt she remained true to herself, but evidently now she noticed having to adapt to contemporary uses.
The latest version of Poweramp actually implements Powerstream, a service of streaming for online radio via HTTP. In fact it is not a real step towards streaming, but rather an intermediate position as it allows access to radio stations through the app interface without being able to choose from a music catalog of songs.

The news at the moment is a exclusive privilege of users registered in the beta channel, so it is not available on the Play Store.
