The age of access to the old-age pension in 2021 remains fixed at 67 years, as is established by a decree of the Ministry of the Economy published in the Official Gazette. With effect from 1 January 2021, the requirements for access to pensions have not been further increased, establishes the provision.

In particular, via XX Settembre took note of the note from the president of Istat who announced the increase in life expectancy at 65, equal to 0.021 tenths of a year. The data, the decree explains, transformed into twelfths of a year, is equivalent to a variation of 0.025 which, in turn rounded in months, corresponds to a variation equal to 0. It is good news, even if it reflects the fact that hope of life does not grow. And so the requirement for access to the old-age pension remains fixed at 67 years also in the two-year period 2021-2022, as now.

The passage, necessary since our pension system adapted to life expectancy, was put on paper by the decree of the Ministry of the Economy, published in the Official Gazette. Since the two-year adjustments, the fixed level will remain the same also for all of 2022. At that date a new adjustment can be made, if necessary, (but with stakes: in 2023 it will be possible to increase the maximum to 67 years and 3 months).
