Turin, "Ndrangheta and international drug trafficking: 71 precautionary measures with related seizures of movable and immovable property

At dawn, in turin and in the Piedmontese hinterland, as well Reggio Calabria, Milan is Catania, 400 Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Turin have executed a precautionary custody order, issued by the GIP of the Turin Court at the request of the local District Anti-Mafia Directorate, against 65 belonging to and / or contiguous to the locals of 'Ndrangheta of Volpiano is San Giusto Canavese (TO), held responsible for mafia-type association and international drug trafficking, with the aggravating circumstance of mafia purposes.

At the same time, the Guardia di Finanza of Turin proceeded with the execution of a part of the same precautionary measure against another 6 suspects, held responsible, within the aforementioned association, also for self-laundering and fraudulent transfer of values. Subject to seizure of movable and immovable property, as well as current accounts and shares of great value. In particular, the investigation of the Armed Forces of the CC was started in 2016 by the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Turin together with the Compagnia di Chivasso and allowed for:

1. rebuild the organization chart of the aforementioned locals of 'Ndrangheta, headed respectively by the Agresta and Assisi families, operating in the province of Turin, with interests throughout the national territory and abroad (Spain and Brazil);
2. tracking drug supply channels (hashish imported via the traditional Spanish route and cocaine through northern European ports);
3. to identify the components of two distinct organizations dedicated to the trafficking and marketing of illegal substances, both operating under the aegis of the 'Ndrangheta, of which one in Volpiano and the other in the northern area of ​​the city of Turin, with headquarters in Barriera Milano;
4. capture in the course of investigations 3 fugitives (father and two children), of which Assisi Pasquale Michael captured in Turin on 3 May 2017 in an apartment with attic in the city center, while Assisi Nicola and Assisi Patrick, included in the list of fugitives "dangerous" (ex list 100) located in luxury apartments in Sao Paulo on 8 July 2019;
5. seize a total of 72.5 kg of hashish, 3.7 kg of marijuana and 6 kg of cocaine, as well as documented fictitious headings of movable property, real estate and company shares, now subject to seizure.

The investigations carried out by the military of the Guardia di Finanza of Turin (60 financiers employed since dawn) were instead mainly oriented to the identification of dissimulation behaviors of the real availability of goods carried out by some of the suspects and led to the identification of further n . 6 subjects, Of which 2 referable to the local of Volpiano, 3 having the role of "nominee" and 1 performing the profession of accountant "white collar".

The investigations allowed to find out how the members used part of the proceeds of the illegal activities, re-employing them in economic activities, located in the Municipalities of Settimo Torinese and Volpiano, such as the rental of the slot machines, the marketing of coffee and the collection of bets. The companies were fictitiously registered as compliant nominees, in order to avoid the application of any preventive measures that could have led to the seizure of the companies.

Among the investments subject to seizure there is also a gym located in Volpiano.

The aforementioned criminal program was made possible also thanks to the activity of an accountant from Settimo Torinese, who placed his knowledge and technical skills in the corporate sector at the disposal of the organization, personally following the establishment of the various screen companies and providing constant support for the resolution of business problems and relationships with companies, customers and lenders.
