Mps, the condemnation of the leaders and the case of David Rossi VIDEO

All condemned: this is the verdict of the Milan court in the trial against the former leaders of the Monte dei Paschi di Siena, the institution overwhelmed by the scandal of financial operations to cover losses for the acquisition of Banca Antonveneta.

The former president of Monte dei Paschi, Giuseppe Mussari, was sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in prison. Besides him, among others, the former general manager Antonio Vigni was also sentenced to 7 years and 3 months and the former financial director Daniele Pirondini at 5 years and 3 months. The defendants are all accused in various ways of market manipulation, false accounting, false prospectus and obstacle to the supervisory authority.

We at Le Iene have often dealt with Mps, deepening in particular the story of David Rossi. David was the head of communications at Monte dei Paschi di Siena when on 6 March 2013 he flew down from his office window, while the institute was at the center of the financial and media storm. But was it a suicide or a murder? In the case, Rossi's watch plays an important role: it would have been thrown out of the window twenty minutes after the body fell, according to a study ordered by the manager's family. And this would prove that in the room, immediately after the fall, someone would be there.

Despite the two filings of death investigations – which, we clarify, they are not linked to the judgments we have given you above – considered a suicide, the family continues to demand justice in the belief that something does not return in the reconstruction of the judiciary. And after our inquiries, parliamentarians from all major political parties have called for a commission of inquiry to be set up to shed light on all those dark spots still open.
