First, in the nineties, the StarTac. Then, in 2004, the Razr V3 that sold over 130 million pieces. Now with the new Razr from Motorola the iconic shell-shaped phone is back, in a completely renewed version and with a flexible display. A phone that directly challenges the other "closables" of Samsung and Huawei.
The new Razr
We found the phone particularly compact and resistant: it has, in fact, a stainless steel body, a 3D Gorilla Glass glass and above all on the flexible screen no folds can be seen thanks to the so-called "zero gap" hinges, which allow to have a flexible display whose sides remain perfectly flush when the phone is closed. In the front there is a second "service" screen on which to read the notifications, you can also reply to messages with the voice; also with simple gestures you can activate the camera for a selfie (rotating the wrist twice) or the torch (moving the hand as if we were using a hammer).
Technology
Before putting the new Razr Motorola on the market, it tested over 20 prototypes. The result is the result of four years and a proprietary patent. "On this smartphone we find a marriage of elegance, design and premium materials", explains the number one of Motorola in Italy, the executive director MBG Europe Expansion of Lenovo Carlo Barlocco. "Great attention to the small footprint – he adds – but when it opens we have a smartphone with a very large screen, bright and with excellent performance".
Technical characteristics, price and availability
The new Razr integrates a Qualcomm SnapDragon 710 processor, Android 9 operating system and 128 GB of storage space. It will cost 1,599 euros: a price certainly high but, for example, lower than the Samsung Galaxy Fold presented last week. It will be possible to pre-order it starting December 4th.
