The last three seasons have been the most difficult in terms of the results experienced by Jorge Lorenzo in his MotoGP militancy. The Ducati biennium ended with 137 and 134 points, the result of the first year of a difficult adaptation to the Desmosedici and the second of the injuries that gave him no respite in the second part of the championship. Even worse is the 2019 going with Honda, in which Lorenzo was not able to close even a GP in the top10, collecting the misery of 25 points in 14 world events.

Certainly the Spaniard was not lucky, remedying a really ruinous fall in Assen, which cost him a double vertebral fracture: "I'm much better now. Honestly, I thought I was much weaker, but I felt that I was improving from week to week, even if very slowly. I think that in these days until Valencia I will have time to train a lot and above all I will have a chance to rest. I need a month, a month and a half without running to recover completely for next year"Said the five-time world champion at Eicma in Milan.

Lorenzo also retraced his championship, recalling that he had a good feeling with the RC213V 2018: "The first time I tried the bike in Valencia, in the pre-season tests, in Jerez, last year's, I was very fast. I felt good. With the 2019 bike, even if it went very well with Marc this year because he set the new record of points, all the other drivers struggled to manage the front wheel, including myself". And he concluded: "On the straights we have extra power but in corners, there are a few more problems that we are trying to solve for next year and they are solutions that we will try already in the Valencia tests.".
