Cianci's criminal life began in 1979: had 20 years when in the night between8 and the 9 October killed three carabinieri who had stopped him at a checkpoint between Liscate is Melzo, in the Milanese area. Cianci, in a stolen car, opened fire on the marshal Michele Campagnuolo, the appointee Pietro Lia and the carabiniere Federico Tempini intent on verifying the documents. When the then 20 year old was arrested Cerignola, in the province of Foggia, he did not confess and said, indeed, that some soldiers in a car had been shot at the Melzo station soldiers.
At the trial, however, with a letter to the judges he admitted the massacre: he was sentenced in the first instance to thelife sentence, confirmed on appeal in 1983 and later also in Supreme Court. For him the bars of the Bollate prison were closed. Saturday, however, he had obtained a premium permit one day.
