Marc Marquez leads this morning, followed by Suzuki's Alex Rins and Joan Mir. Meanwhile the rain has popped up.
Second and final day of testing at Jerez de la Frontera for the MotoGP category. At the top of the list we find at the moment Marc Marquez with a 1: 37.820 achieved after a few laps. At just 17 thousandths there is Alex Rins, third place for Joan Mir in front of the best of the first day, Maverick Vinales and Fabio Quartararo. The tests will end at 18:00, weather permitting: the rain has appeared in the late morning, stopping the work.
There are five RCVs in the Repsol Honda box on this test Tuesday. Two of these are the 2019 versions, the other prototypes for next season. Marc Marquez is clearly committed to development work, while his brother Alex continues the process of adapting to the RCV 2019, which was tested for the first time on Monday. Suzuki still works mainly on the engine. Both pilots expressed positive opinions, but we continue to search for new confirmations. At the end of these tests the decision will be taken in this regard from a 2020 perspective.
As for Yamaha, despite not being the best circuit to evaluate top speeds, it is noted that the M1 accuses 5 km / h compared to the Honda (Marc Marquez showed a top speed of 288 km / h). The Petronas SRT duo are testing the new specifications of the 2020 engine, tested for the first time on Monday, while Valentino Rossi is in action with a completely renewed M1, from the frame to the carbon swingarm to the engine. KTM has recovered the Dani Pedrosa tester on this second day. With Brad Binder and Iker Lecuona making their debut, he and Pol Espargaro lead the development work.
Eric Granado is also racing today, although he has only a few laps to date. At Avintia Racing, Tito Rabat is testing the latest updates provided by Ducati, as envisaged by the latest agreement signed with the Borgo Panigale factory. In the official team, Andrea Dovizioso has two 2020 prototypes available, while Danilo Petrucci has the Desmosedici 2019 and a new prototype. Also on track was the tester Michele Pirro, at work in Pramac Racing instead of Francesco Bagnaia, kept at rest after a wrist injury.
