Palermo re-embraces the national team for Italy's match against Armenia and the Azzurri respond with an avalanche of goals. The "Barbera" pays tribute to Mancini's team with the public of special occasions to celebrate the runway of the Azzurri, now long qualified for the European Championships. A cheering party made even more spectacular by the result: 9-1 for Italy.

A record victory for the national team that in its history had scored 9 goals in a single match only on two other occasions, in 1920 against France (9-4) and in 1948 with the USA.

There are 27,800 spectators who showed up at the Renzo Barbera stadium to watch the Italians' match against Armenia, a valid challenge for the European championships in 2020. Mancini's team has already signed off the pass for Euro2020 and, despite some fringes of the rosanero fans had announced their absence due to the recent events concerning the failure of Palermo Calcio, in the end the plant of the Sicilian capital, as you can see from the photos, showed its proximity to Italy.

"We are proud to be Sicilian", "Neither grappa, nor barolo. Ubriachi di Zaniolo", we read some of the banners displayed in the stands. But also "no to racism", an important sign in a start to the season marked by so many cases of racist insults in Italian stadiums. Thunderous applause for the Azzurri since their first entry on the pitch: Sirigu, ex-goalkeeper of Palermo, and Bonucci the most acclaimed. Net run for the National team that closes its path in the Euro 2020 qualifications by winning all ten matches of its group. To sign the victory against Armenia the brace of Immobile, that of Zaniolo and goals from Barella, Romagnoli, Jorginho, Orsolini and Chiesa. For the Armenia goal of the Babayan flag.

THE CHRONICLE. The team of Mancini closes the practice already after the first half hour of play taking to 4-0, but that would have been a blue party it was understood immediately after the first ten minutes of game for effect of the two goals in two minutes of Immobile and Zaniolo respectively at 8 'on the Church's assist and at 9' on the same Immobile.

Italy turns that is a wonder, Mancini dissolves his doubts on the eve by focusing on Zaniolo in attack with Immobile and Church; in midfield with Jorginho in the middle there are Tonali mezzala on the right and Barella on the left; in defense Bonucci and Romagnoli central with Di Lorenzo right back and Biraghi left in front of the goalkeeper Sirigu, acclaimed by the almost 28 thousand (27,750 spectators, the official figure) of the "Barbera", his former stadium at the time of Palermo.
Armenia immediately collapses under the blows of the Azzurri. After the two initial goals, the only one to give courage to the Armenian players is Bonucci with his errors in the lightening phase. On one occasion he unloads the ball backwards without noticing Karapetyan lurking on Sirigu's lob, but hits the crossbar in full. In another, at the end of the first half, he allows the Armenian captain Hambartsumyan to free himself from the shot that finds a careful Sirigu.

To round off the result in the first half, two more goals in four minutes from Barella on 29 'on an assist from Bonucci and Immobile on 33' on Zaniolo's verticalization. A partial that could also be more conspicuous in view of the church-centered poles, which struck one in the second half, and Immobile.

At the start of the second half, Mancini starts from the start Orsolini instead of Barella, pulling Zaniolo back in a midfielder position. But even from farther than the goal line the Roma player finds the goal at 19 'with a left-footed shot. It is the net that starts the blue goal scorer of the second half that brings the signatures of Romagnoli in the 27th minute, Jorginho in the 30th minute on a penalty kick brought by Orsolini, the same Bologna striker in the 32nd minute and Chiesa in the 36th minute. During the game there is also room for Meret's debut in place of Sirigu and Izzo's entry into the field for Bonucci. It ends with the Palermo public that "calls" the tenth goal and Armenia who scores the flag with Babayan on 34 '.
