Even if the temperatures are falling only in the last few days, from November 1 it is possible to switch on warm ups domestic also in climate zone D, which includes the municipalities of Rome, Ancona and Bari. With the arrival of winter, it becomes essential optimize consumption, avoiding to disperse heat and thus obtaining benefits also from an economic point of view.Read also> When can the radiators be switched on again? Dates, times and everything you need to know

To protect theenvironment he was born in saving on the bill, the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (AENEAS) proposes 10 practical rules to better heat their own homes avoiding waste and, in many cases, a useless sanction.

Here are what they are:

1) Perform plant maintenance. It is the number one rule in terms of safety, savings and attention to the environment. In fact, a system consumes and pollutes less when it is properly regulated, with clean filters and without limescale deposits.

2) Check the room temperature. Having summer temperatures in the coldest season is wasteful, and hot and dry air is bad for your health. The legislation provides for a temperature up to 22 degrees, but 19 degrees are more than enough to guarantee the necessary comfort. Each extra degree involves significant energy consumption, with a consequent increase in the bill.

3) Attentive to the hours of ignition. It is useless to keep the heating system on day and night. In an efficient home, the heat that the structures accumulate when the plant is in operation guarantees a sufficient degree of comfort even during the shutdown period. The maximum daily start-up time varies according to the law according to the 6 climatic zones in which Italy is divided: from a maximum of 14 hours per day for plants in zone E (north and mountain areas) to 8 hours in zone B (bands coastal areas of southern Italy).

4) Shield the windows during the night. Closing shutters and shutters or putting heavy curtains reduces heat dispersion towards the outside.

5) Avoid obstacles in front of and above the radiators and do not leave the windows open for a long time. Placing curtains, furniture or screens in front of radiators or using them as a clothesline is a source of waste as it hinders the spread of heat. Instead, it is advisable to insert a reflecting panel between the wall and the radiator, especially in cases where the radiator is recessed in the wall, reducing its thickness and degree of insulation. Even a simple sheet of tinfoil helps to reduce dispersion towards the outside. Furthermore, to renew the air in a room, it is sufficient to keep the windows open for a few minutes, while leaving them too long only results in unnecessary heat loss.

6) Check the building. The evaluation of a technician on the efficiency level of a building, carried out through the energy diagnosis or the energy performance certificate (APE) allows to determine the most convenient interventions to contain consumption and costs. The compensation for the technician is generally affordable and the interventions are even more convenient thanks to tax deductions (from 50% to 85% in case of seismabonus in the condominiums) and to the non-repayable incentives of the "Thermal account". Even the cost of consulting is deductible.

7) Innovative heating systems. It is always advisable to evaluate the replacement of the old boiler with new heat generators of higher efficiency. Also for this reason, the legislation requires that the new boilers installed be "condensing" or "with high efficiency heat pumps". There are also biomass-powered boilers and hybrid systems (condensing boiler and heat pump) combined with solar thermal systems to heat water and photovoltaic systems to produce electricity. Also for these interventions it is possible to take advantage of tax reliefs.

8) Temperature regulation and innovative technological solutions. It is essential to equip your system with an automatic temperature control unit that avoids unnecessary power surges or peaks. The possibility of hourly, daily and weekly programming guarantees further energy savings. Even domotics helps to save money: programmable thermostats, presence sensors and electronic regulators allow you to remotely adjust, via mobile phone, the temperature of the individual rooms and the time to switch on the heating systems.

9) Use thermostatic valves. These devices are used to regulate the flow of hot water in radiators and make it possible not to exceed, in the environments where they are installed, the average temperature of the entire apartment, especially in rooms facing South.

10) Heat metering. It allows you to independently manage the heating of your apartment and allows the individual user to save and pay only based on actual consumption. To use them it is necessary to install heat measurement devices on the radiators or in the pipes connecting the apartment to the central heating system and thermostatic valves in the individual radiators. The law has made it mandatory to install them in condominiums and in multi-purpose buildings heated by a centralized system.

Here are the different ones climate areas in which theItaly, with the respective periods and times in which it is possible to turn on the radiators:
Zone A: from December 1st to March 15th. Maximum 6 hours a day
Zone B: from December 1st to March 31st. Maximum 8 hours a day
Zone C: from November 15th to March 31st. Maximum 10 hours a day
Zone D: from November 1st to April 15th: maximum 12 hours a day
Zone E: from 15 October to 15 April: maximum 14 hours a day
Zone F: no limitation.
