Giorgio Tirabassi is hospitalized in the Avezzano hospital, in the province of L'Aquila. He had a heart attack, but now he is alert. The Roman actor and director, 59, felt ill while he was in Civitella Alfedena, a village of 280 souls at 1100 meters above sea level in the heart of the Abruzzo National Park. He had arrived at 7pm for an event organized by the Municipality: his movie "The Big Jump" was projected in the conference room of the town. At 7.45 pm, just before the start, he suffered severe chest pain.An ambulance was sent from Castel di Sangro, which immediately assisted him and then was taken to Avezzano, to the Cardiological Intensive Care Unit (UTIC), where he is now monitored. However, he is conscious, on the phone he tried to reassure everyone, apologizing even to the public that filled the room to meet him.
