More and more Italians are preparing for the most anticipated e-commerce event (and not only): we are talking about the Black friday which falls on the last Friday of November, that is on the 29th of this year.
Although it is an American "tradition" that occurs the day after Thanksgiving, the fever of discounts concentrated in a single period has ended up conquering the whole world and, consequently, also Italy. With promotions that are not necessarily only 29, but also all week and therefore with discounts from November 25th.
In fact, tradition has it that Black friday is celebrated on the last Friday of November, in time to start taking care of Christmas gifts as well. Black Friday, in fact, has an all-American origin: in 1929 the famous American brand Macy's inaugurated the tradition of special discounts called Black friday, the day after Thanksgiving, one of the national holidays most important in the USA.
Some data from last year in Italy: according to an estimate by Ascom Bergamo, the total turnover in 2018 would have been between 43 and 50 million euros, only for clothing and footwear. The most convenient and sought-after categories are technology and clothing.
If, on the one hand, Black friday and Cyber monday represent a very useful tool to buy what you need at a low price, on the other there is always the risk of making rash purchases or, even worse, of finding yourself with counterfeit and dangerous items. To help consumers, Adiconsum and Centro Europeo Consumatori Italia propose, through a video, an information campaign to facilitate customers and make them aware of the rights that apply to online purchases.
