From North America to the South for the penultimate round of the 2019 Formula 1 World Championship: the Brazilian Grand Prix. Both titles have already been awarded, but the weekend promises to be full of interesting points, also thanks to the weather which could hold some surprises.

Yellow-green ups and downs. The circuit, dedicated to the memory of Jose Carlos Pace, is located a few kilometers from San Paolo. The circuit rises more than seven hundred meters above sea level and – as in Mexico, albeit in a less marked manner – engineers will have to deal with a reduction in aerodynamic load and greater difficulty in cooling the car's elements. The Interlagos lap is short but intense, with all those ups and downs and lots of curves that give the drivers no respite. The peculiarity of Interlagos is that it turns counter-clockwise and for the pilots it becomes challenging to withstand the lateral forces on the neck for the 71 laps of the race, considering that there is no real stretch completely straight to breathe for a moment.

High degradation, tougher tires. Pirelli has chosen this year to bring harder compounds to Brazil than those supplied last year, in order to limit degradation and allow riders to push at the maximum on every lap. For the Brazilian GP, White Hard C1, Yellow Medium C2 and Red Soft C3 compounds have been named. Mario Isola, Head of F.1 and Pirelli's car racing, explained: "The Brazilian Grand Prix is almost always extremely lively, on a track that favors overtaking and where pilots often go out of line. The curves follow one another and consequently the tires work continuously on an "old school" track that does not forgive mistakes. The variable weather and the safety car probability contribute to making the race often unpredictable. We must be ready for everything: we are not sure what conditions we will find in this weekend, but our decision to name the three hardest compounds in the range will allow riders to push hard even if they were to choose, as likely, a one-stop strategy ".

Weather forecasts. In the past, Interlagos gave us epic races. This weekend we will have to keep an eye on the sky: rain is expected during free practice on Friday, but the temperature will remain high, around 22 degrees. On Saturday the chances of rain increase and – at present – rainfall is expected during qualifying. On Sunday, except for changes in the next few hours, the Interlagos sky should be cloudy with little chance of rain. But, as we know, everything can change very quickly in those parts.

The Brazilian GP on TV. The twentieth round of the Formula 1 World Championship will be broadcast exclusively on Sky pay-TV, while non-subscribers will be able to follow qualifications and deferred race on TV8, unencrypted on digital terrestrial.
