VENICE – His license had been withdrawn a few hours earlier, because he found it with a minimal amount of hashish in his pocket. Then, on the way home, authorized to drive by the temporary police permit, he lost control of his Mercedes A-Class, ended up in a ditch after crashing into a tree. His girlfriend lost his life in the accident, Giulia Zandarin, aged 18, who sat next to him while he, Alberto Antonello, aged 19, is hospitalized in very serious conditions at the hospital of the Angel of Mestre. Both young people are from Castelfranco (Treviso).

Alberto is the son of Franco and brother of Andrea: their story was told first in the book "If I embrace you don't be afraid" by the writer Fulvio Ervas and then in the movie "All my crazy Love" by Gabriele Salvatores, who reconstructs the motorcycle trip from the United States to South America of the father who left his business as an entrepreneur to devote himself to his autistic son.

The incident involving the other son, Alberto, took place this morning, around 8, in Musile di Piave, along the Treviso-Mare road. The two boyfriends were returning home after an evening spent with friends at the King's disco in Jesolo for Halloween night. In the outward journey in the car they were in six friends: the boys had been stopped by one by the police because beyond the number allowed by law. A little hashish was found in the control, hence the withdrawal of the license and the provisional permission to return home. Subjected to alcohol testing it was negative.

After the evening spent at the disco, Alberto Antonello and his girlfriend decide to return to Castelfranco respecting the provisional permit, which indicates the shortest way back home. Then, on the Triestina variant, the way out, which would not have involved other means. Another car driver launched the alarm, seeing the car in the ditch with the two young men on board. Giulia Zandarin was already dead, while Alberto Antonello was transported by helicopter to the hospital in Mestre, where he is now in a pharmacological coma. The first tests in the blood would have ascertained the presence of alcohol in the blood: for newly licensed drivers the alcohol limit should be zero.
