The days of Black Week ranging from Black Friday to Cyber Monday are now among the events that most Italians note early on the calendar. A week full of opportunities and missed opportunities to be able to buy technology products at very advantageous prices and maybe take the opportunity to think about gifts before Christmas. The online price comparator Trovaprezzi.it, in his last research analyzed the behavior of Italians regarding online research during the days between Black Friday and the equally well-known Cyber Monday. Smartphones, televisions, washing machines and dryers, needless to say, are the main categories of interest, in this particular period of the year.

Analyzing the purchase intentions between 23 and 26 November of last year on Trovaprezzi.it, over 4 and a half million searches were recorded. The 10 categories of the portal that catalyzed user attention were:

Compared to 2017, there is a drop in interest in the Vacuum Cleaners and Cleaners category (from 5th to 9th position), Kitchen Appliances, Perfumes and Tablets to the advantage of Supplements and Adjuvants, Refrigerators and Freezers and Ovens rising to the top respectively at 6th, 7th and 10th position.

But what are the peak moments of research during these four days full of offers? Despite the fact that Friday is a working day, the greatest activity of Italians is concentrated from 9 to 14 on Black Friday, which continues on Saturday afternoon with peaks of research between 14 and 18 and Sunday from 17 to 22. Cyber Monday, which closes the period of pre-Christmas offers, attracts the attention of Italians on several occasions: the highest concentration of research is at 14, between 17 and 18 and from 21 to 22.

The most active regions, with a significant growth compared to the same days of the previous week, prove to be Trentino Alto Adige (+ 50%), Tuscany (+ 49%), Veneto (+ 46%) e Umbria is Friuli Venezia Giulia (+ 44%).

Analyzing the purchase intentions of the period, an increase of 18% was estimated compared to last year, concentrated more on Friday 29th. The four days of "crazy discounts" together reach 20% of the searches in November 2019, distributed as follows:

These estimates are confirmed in line with the data of previous editions: with the exception of 2014 in which Cyber Monday had received more interest than Black Friday, on Friday it gained ground year after year, attracting more attention from users interested in purchasing.

The identikit of the potential digital consumer reveals us however some novelties: for this year it is estimated a growth of the searches carried out by desktops with a growth that varies from 2% to 6% during the 4 days, with a increase in users over 55. At this point, what remains is to wait a few days to find out what offers this Black Friday will give us.
