Bigon: "The VAR is there and must be used, we are collecting less than we deserve. Sinisa and Ibra feel, the ball is in Zlatan's hand"

Interviewed this morning by Rai Radio 1 during the ‘Radio Anch'io sport’ program, Riccardo Bigon took stock of the situation in Bologna. From the defeat against Inter to the many points left on the road, from the use of the VAR to the ambitions for the near future, passing through the fascinating possibility of hiring Zlatan Ibrahimovic, here are all the statements made by the rossoblu sports director:

Many applauses, few points – "Disappointments are part of the game and you have to be good at disposing of them quickly. Of course, losing at the last minute with a penalty in my opinion questionable is a greater disappointment than a normal defeat. Also on Saturday the team fought and in general it is giving a hard time to many more famous companies, but the points we collect are less than those we deserve. This means that in the future we will have to do better ".

Ibrahimovic dream – «The relationship is direct between him and Mihajlovic, a relationship that is born in the past. Opinions on the near future have been felt and exchanged in recent months. It is obvious that only Zlatan can decide, the ball is in his hands and in the coming months he will make his choices: we cannot but be fascinated by the idea, we wait to understand if his programs will include the possibility of coming to Italy ".

VAR put aside – "Without it, Orsolini has committed naivety, but the contact with Lautaro in my opinion was not so clear. In these cases, not obvious, it would be advisable for the referee not to whistle immediately and reserve the right to check the monitor. The fact of immediately whistling even venial contacts leads to not being able to intervene with the VAR, because it is not a clear error: in this way penalties are assigned, not only ours, for minimal interventions. Now we can double check everything at the VAR, and then we don't whistle immediately, we let the action end, we look at it calmly and we grant the penalty only if it actually is so ».

Sooner or later Europe – «We are working in this direction on the basis of a project that will also develop in the coming seasons. Last year we made a bad first leg, risking relegation, then thanks to the arrival of Sinisa we made an incredible ride in the second round and now we are starting to build a more competitive team. But we must also remember that this is a special season for us: despite the absence of the coach, the team is expressing a great game and is fighting in every match even with the big ones, showing great union and professionalism. Merit of Mihajlovic, who manages to be always in touch with the team, of all the technical staff, who is doing a great job, and of the players themselves ».
