Everything is ready for the tenth edition of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup scheduled at Asuncion in Paraguay from tomorrow until December 1st. Sixteen teams divided into four groups, the first two of each group qualify for the quarter finals. Italy will deal with Tahiti, Uruguay and Mexico. The debut for the twelve players available to coach Emiliano Del Duca is set for tomorrow at 8.15 pm with the Polynesian Tiki Toa national team on the sand rectangle of the Asuncion Beach Arena. The race will be broadcast live on Sky Sport Collection, Sky Sport 1 (commentary by Dario Massara), on the RaiSport website and delayed at 12.15pm on RaiSport HD (ch 57 and 58) with Lucio Michieli's commentary and technical commentary by Roberto Caretto. The group called by the coach is the one now consolidated with the recordman Paolo Palmacci who will play his eighth World Cup. Following captain Francesco Corosiniti to his seventh participation. Fifth token for goalkeeper Simone Del Mestre, fourth for the two Viareggio Gabriele Gori and Dario Ramacciotti, third for Alessio Frainetti, Simone Marinai and Emmanuele Zurlo, second for the Catania Alfio Chiavaro. There will be three absolute newcomers: these are Andrea Carpita, Josep Jr and Marcello Perciamontani.
The coach Emiliano Del Duca on the eve of the debut has clear ideas: "The boys are concentrated and serene. We have recovered even those who were not in perfect condition, there is a great desire to do well and bring up the Italian flag".
Italy is complete, all available to face the vice champions in charge. The path to get here has been good, 29 successes on 42 games played in 2019, 237 goals scored and 156 conceded. Tahiti in the last three World Cups has made a remarkable leap in quality, fourth in the competition organized at home in 2013, a finalist in 2015 and 2017 stopped only by Portugal and Brazil. Italy and Tahiti have never faced each other but some players know them well. Taiarui, Labaste, Tavanae, Tchen and Tehau played in the Italian Championship from 2014 to 2017 wearing the sweaters of Pisa, Romagna and Villafranca. They have faced them and in some cases they have also been teammates. To keep in mind Taiarui and Labaste, they are the only ones in pink who played their first edition of 2011 and the best absolute markers at the World Championships for the "Tiki Toa" with 9 and 8 networks respectively. Labaste in the Italian Championship scored 19 goals in two seasons (2015 and 2016). Patrick Tepa with 12 goals was the top scorer of the World Cup qualifiers. Taiarui has signed 20 goals with us in just over two years, and won the Golden Ball at the 2015 World Cup. Italy will return to the Paraguayan sand on Saturday to face Uruguay at 11.25pm in the second match of the group. The race will be broadcast live on Sky Sport Collection (commentary by Antonio Nucera), on the RaiSport website and delayed at 00.30 on the Rai sports channel.
On the figc.it and beachsoccer.lnd.it websites there will be space for highlights, photo galleries, insights, news, commentary on the games, statements by the protagonists, results and tables. Enthusiasts will be able to update themselves in real time on the FIGC and LND social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) following the hashtag #BeachSoccerWC.
