Bad weather, tomorrow orange and red alert in Calabria

Lamezia Terme – The orange alert that is affecting our area has also been protracted tomorrow, 12 November. In fact, for the zone that includes Cala 1,2 and 3 rains and thunderstorms with a predominantly inverted or temporal character, they are foreseen, even of strong intensity, accompanied by frequent electric activity. The time that is going to get worse already from the first afternoon of today will lead to thunderstorms during the night. For the rest of Calabria, a clear deterioration is expected which has led the Civil Protection to issue the red alert. Intense rainfall is expected on Cala 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, including back-to-back or thunderstorms of high intensity, which could lead to landslides and flooding in areas at risk of landslides and floods. Also expected strong winds and risk of storm surges along all the coasts exposed on all areas of weather alert. Municipalities affected by the red alert are arranging for schools to be closed.

Citizens are invited by the Municipality to "want to observe, for the foreseen risk scenario, the behavior patterns suggested by the National Department of Civil Protection reported on the dedicated page of the portal of the Authority".
