Open the handle, get on board and you're immersed in the best of "made in Ingolstadt". It almost seems like the cockpit of aflagship for the care of the details, the combinations and above all the feedback that every material or command transmits to the touch, to the hearing and to the sight. Of course it must be said that, in order to reach these levels of endowment, it is necessary to put one's hand on the wallet and draw on the list of optional for a fee: too many are paid separately, some of which, in a car of this category and price, they should have be standard, like the rear view camera.

Vast, regular and usable the trunk, in the norm as regards the load volume (we speak of 495 liters). The hatbox is very clever and retracts autonomously when the door is opened, but the fact that the space is not organized under the load plan. The 2.0 turbodiesel of our test, with a power of 190 hp, is able to ensure a level of fluidity of the first order, thanks also to the combination with the 7 gears with double clutch, always sweet and quick. Even the soundproofing is very accurate, just think that the double glazing is installed at the front.

The structure is solid, perhaps too much in the city on this S-Line Edition with 19 "wheels, but compact enough to enhance the dynamic qualities of the A4 Avant also between the curves, where we can appreciate the variable calibration of the steering based on 5 driving modes which also affect set-up and disbursement. Icing on the cake, the four-wheel drive permanent Four: it is true, it increases weight and consumption, but guarantees a very high grip.

How much

THEThe price list opens with i 36,500 euros required for the sedan, which become 37,100 euros for the Avant in the basic setup. The range is very wide for engines and fittings. At the top there are the more "pushes" S4, from around 75,000 euros, and the RS4 which starts at 90,000. This without considering packages and options, among which we must not forget the Pack Tour, with driving assistance devices.
