The carabinieri of Sava, in the province of Taranto, have arrested 18 young people, including 8 minors, who allegedly harassed a disabled pensioner. They are accused of extortion, theft, robbery and persecutory acts against a 61-year-old man suffering from mental illness.

Among the 12 adults arrested, five are in jail, five are under house arrest and two have instead been banned from approaching the pensioner. According to the provisions of the investigating judge of Taranto, of the eight minors, three were taken to juvenile penal institutions and five to recovery communities.

Some suspects are also charged with the crime of possession and illegal shooting of a firearm. The investigation revealed that the victim was relegated to a situation of marginalization and harassed for years by the baby gang that subjected her to micro extortion. (HANDLE).

The case of Sava is similar to that of Antonio Cosimo Stano in Manduria. The 66-year-old died after having suffered assaults and violence from various groups of boys, who shared the harassment with videos spread in the Whatsapp groups. For that matter, they ended up on trial in 16: 3 adults and 13 minors, for whom a probation was requested.
