Here we go, taking Thursday 7 November the obligation to mount car safety devices on cars, the so-called "anti-abandonment systems" for those who transport under-4s. To facilitate the purchase of the devices, a fund was set up in the tax law with an incentive of 30 euros for each device purchased.
PD: "Temporarily suspend sanctions for latecomers"
The Decree of the Ministry of Transport has also established the technical characteristics of these devices "which can be originally integrated into the child seat, or a basic equipment or an accessory of the vehicle, included in the homologation dossier of the same or a system independent of the child seat and from the vehicle ". Those who do not have these devices will incur violations under Article 172 of the Highway Code, with administrative sanctions ranging from 81 to 326 euros (payment within five days of 56.70 euros) and a 5 point deduction from the driving license.
The deputy of the PD Ubaldo Pagano has proposed to the Interior Ministry to suspend "for the moment the sanctions on anti-abandon seats until the citizens have been informed correctly and widespread about the new legislation and until the 30 euro incentive will be operational to the purchase, whose implementation modalities still have to be clarified by the Ministry of Transport ".
The technical features of child seats
The decree, explained the Asaps (the Association of Polstrada supporters), provides that the devices "must be activated automatically and must be equipped with an alarm able to warn the driver of the presence of the child in the vehicle, through specific visual and acoustic signals , perceivable inside or outside the vehicle (they can also be equipped with an automatic communication system for sending messages or calls) ".
"The Asaps – comments President Giordano Biserni – hoped for a longer time margin (to adapt, ed), interpreting the law more favorably and with the granting of the initially planned 120 days. So it was not. Therefore parents, grandparents and carers hurry ".
