So far only the American company has given the willingness to invest in the capital of Nuova Alitalia. For Atlantia the proposal is not enough. The Germans could only beat it by agreeing to become shareholders of the Newco immediately

The Alitalia game is still open to all solutions. Including the bailout flop and the eventual liquidation of the company. A few hours after the deadline for the presentation of the final and binding purchase offer (Thursday 21st) the solution has not yet been found.
The offer is unlikely on November 21st
It is probable that on Thursday 21 the offer will not be presented but, at best, only the establishment of the company that will have to take over the activities of the company, the "Newco" Nuova Alitalia. In that case, Ferrovie dello Stato and Atlantia could ask for a new extension of at least a couple of weeks to finalize the offer. It would be the eighth extension.
The industrial partner
Missing the most important choice, the future industrial partner, between Delta Airlines and Lufthansa. The Fs leader has continued to work in all directions, with the other potential members of Nuova Alitalia: Atlantia (which should take the same share of Fs, 35% or 37.5%), the Mef (which would convert in 15 about 145 million euros that Alitalia must pay as interest on the 900 million state loan), Delta or Lufthansa.
Delta confirms investment of 100 million
Only Delta has so far shown willingness to adhere to the conditions set by the Fs and also by Atlantia, which is more pro-German: to acquire a stake in Nuova Alitalia. The American carrier led by Ed Bastian has sent in the last hours the final letter in which it confirms its willingness to enter the capital of Nuova Alitalia, the "Newco". Delta formally confirmed its willingness to invest 100 million euros, which is equivalent to 10% of the planned capital.
Industrial plan with at least 2,500 redundancies
Delta confirms the industrial plan already developed with Fs for months. The plan calls for a new company with 102 departing planes (compared to 113 planned in the Alitalia fleet at the end of this year), of which 23 long-haul jets (three fewer than the current ones), about 2,500-2,800 redundancies out of 11,500 employees Total.
