A small three-cylinder for the Toyota Yaris GR-4 – Mondo Auto

After the "bad" Toyota Yaris GRMN of 2017, could return a vitaminized Yaris, car that will be called Yaris GR-4, will arrive in 2020 and that will be the transposition in the daily streets of the "beast" that runs – and wins – in the world rally.

Toyota Yaris, great expectation for the fourth generation

While waiting for the official presentation, Toyota has released some information about its next "compact shotgun", mainly with regard to the powertrain: the latter will not be a four-cylinder unit like on race cars but a smaller three-cylinder in-line engine (the racing version, both WRC and R5 instead will keep the four-in-line), most likely supercharged.

As for the official presentation, the Japanese company talked about the "coming weeks", so it is not known if we will see it by the end of the year or, more likely, at Tokyo show scheduled for January 2020. The last details about this little sportivetta come from Japan’s Motor which reported that – as also done for the rare Yaris GRMN – Toyota will build just 1,000 copies of this Yaris GR-4.
