To celebrate the first docking of MSC Fantasia, the traditional "Maiden Call" ceremony was organized on board the ship. "Cagliari continues to represent a strategic stage for the itineraries of MSC Cruises, as demonstrated by the passenger movement data for next year, when around 130,000 passengers arrive in the city," explained Leonardo Massa, the company's country manager. "Thanks to the collaboration and support of the local authorities, which I wish to thank, in Cagliari we have succeeded in giving life to a cruise program that provides for our important presence. The city is in fact a tourist destination with considerable potential both because it is rich in history and culture, and because it is surrounded by splendid destinations known internationally ", added Luca Valentini, commercial director of MSC Cruises.

(post_content) => MSC Opera says goodbye to the Caribbean and returns to sail in the Mare Nostrum with two suggestive itineraries. This is a repositioning, this of MSC Opera, strongly advocated by travel agents, due to the success achieved in recent years by the winter routes in the Mediterranean. In fact, the winter offer will be extended with two 12-day long cruises aboard MSC Opera starting from Genoa and Civitavecchia.
The first route will touch Spain with Malaga and the Canary Islands, Portugal with Funchal, Morocco with Tangier, the white city, and finally Tunisia with Carthage, before heading back to Italy. The second has as protagonists the countries of the Eastern Mediterranean, discovering the most beautiful seas and the cultures of some of the most ancient civilizations of the whole world. In this case also we start from Genoa and Civitavecchia and sail towards Katakolon in the Peloponnese, an ideal starting point for exploring the city of Olympia. Afterwards we reach Crete, the largest Greek island, and then arrive in Haifa and immerse ourselves in Israeli culture. The itinerary then continues with stops in Cyprus and Rhodes, before returning to Italy, to the city of Messina and finally arriving in the ports of Civitavecchia and Genoa. On Christmas and New Year, a 13-day cruise will also be added, which will exceptionally stop two whole days in Israel, with a visit to the Holy Land. In fact, MSC Cruises offers a tour of the places described in the Bible. You can visit cities of unique charm such as Bethlehem, Nazareth, Cana or even Jerusalem.

(post_content) => The impact of tourism by sea on the territories affected by ships is growing, but above all the overall traffic of the cruise industry, as well as of ferries, hydrofoils and catamarans increases. On the other hand, the judgment on the nautical sector is more articulated, while also the ferry sector still suffers from a certain delay in terms of supply standards. These are the main results of the last edition of the Adriatic Sea Tourism Report, presented in Ancona by Francesco di Cesare, president of Risposte Turismo, at the opening of the fourth edition of the Adriatic Sea Forum – cruise, ferry, sail & yacht.
In 2018, tourism expenses on land incurred by cruise passengers and those who choose to travel by ferry, hydrofoil or catamaran for their holidays in the Adriatic amounted to 420 million euros (excursions and visits, overnight stays, pre-post travel , shopping and catering …).
In terms of overall traffic, the forecasts for Tourism Responses for 2019 therefore speak of 5.52 million passengers handled (boarding, landings and transits), up 7.3% compared to 2018. Increased ship calls also (+ 7.2%), for a total of 3,307 calls. The current year should instead close with Venice firmly in first place with 1.56 million cruise passengers (stable compared to 2018) and 502 ship (stable), followed by Corfu with 787 thousand cruise passengers (+ 7%) and 416 touch ship (+ 0.7%), as well as Dubrovnik, with 745 thousand cruise passengers (+ 1.8%) and 475 ship touches (+ 8.4%).
But the Adriatic Sea Tourism Report also contains a focus on passenger handling on ferries, hydrofoils and catamarans. The current year should in particular close with a slight further increase compared to the already positive results recorded in 2018 (19.74 million passengers handled, + 2.4% compared to 2017): the best of the last ten years. Among the ports examined, the forecasts for 2019 are positive for Zara (2.43 million passengers handled, + 1-2%), Durres (875 thousand, + 2.6%), Dubrovnik (575 thousand, + 3%), Sibenik ( 300 thousand, + 3%), Rijeka (150 thousand, 16%) and Pula (12 thousand, + 2.2% on coastal routes and stable on international routes). On the other hand, passenger movement at the end of the year in the ports of Ancona, Saranda, Porec, Trieste, Rovinj, Pesaro and Umag / Novigrad is stable.
Finally, the report tries to take a look also at the nautical sector of the seven countries bordering the Adriatic. Among these, Italy confirms its leadership in the area with 186 marinas (56% of the total) and over 49 thousand berths (65.6% of the total). Followed by Croatia (125 marinas and over 17,400 berths) and the Slovenia – Montenegro pair, with 8 marinas and, slightly more than 3,100 and 2,800 berths respectively. The analysis of the Italian side of the Adriatic, however, brings out a scenario in dark light: on the one hand, in fact, some structures are experiencing a period of difficulty, while continuing to operate in expectation of new investors and market recovery, on the other important extensions are planned for the next two years, for a total of 2,570 additional berths.
"Despite the problems to be resolved over Venice, the cruise traffic this year will grow significantly in the Adriatic thanks to the work carried out by all the operators active in the area – commented by Cesare -. Conversely, the ferry sector continues to lend itself to a double reading. On the one hand, in fact, it highlights its relevance in the direction of movement of tourists in the Adriatic and the broad potential for growth, on the other there is still a delay compared to the standards, for example of offer and promotion, that other solutions of transport have long since adopted. Finally, for the nautical sector, the indications we have gathered through our survey show a positive 2019. This could translate into a higher rate of occupation of the marinas that today, in size and standard, are already ready to accommodate higher levels of traffic ".

(post_content) => Visit Brescia invites tourists and music lovers to sit in the stalls and take notes on an endless season that mixes events, concerts, festivals. Saturday, June 8, 2019, from dawn to midnight, over 50 places in the city of Brescia will offer an exceptional stage at the eighth edition of the Opera Festival, a project of the Teatro Grande Foundation in Brescia, scheduled for the first time at the gates summer. Between June and July, the Teatro Grande di Brescia again opens its curtain to the city, proposing a real Grand Tour to discover the stories, curiosities, anecdotes and hiding places of a sacred place for the show. Speaking of theaters, it's worth getting away from Brescia for a few hours to Montichiari to sit in one of the 300 seats in the delightful Bonoris Theater. Built in 1773, but inaugurated only in October 1890 with a representation of "Il Trovatore", the structure is a jewel of acoustics. It hosts important opera, operetta, and prose shows as well as the famous Santa Lucia and Christmas special concerts. The marble basin under the stars in the splendid setting of the Vittoriale degli Italiani, which Gabriele d'Annunzio had imagined to host his own shows, only came into being after the death of Vate and was inaugurated with a concert by the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra direct by Carlo Maria Giulini on 8 August 1953. Brescia, Museum of Musical Instruments and the Violin Making of Brescia: it is only thanks to the stubborn passion of Virginio Cattaneo for music and for what it produces that this small private museum has slowly taken shape in the heart of Brescia.

(post_content) => Volotea has inaugurated its thirteenth operational base in Cagliari, fifth in Italy. The carrier has allocated two Airbus A319s at the airport, significantly increasing the number of routes and frequencies to and from Cagliari airport. Since launching its activities in Cagliari in 2012, Volotea has transported over 750,000 passengers, increasing the number year after year. In 2018, the carrier transported 270,000 passengers to and from the Sardinian airport, 66% more than the previous year, with a load factor of 94%. For 2019, Volotea offers 414,000 seats, increasing its transport capacity by 44%. "We are happy to inaugurate our fifth Italian base in Cagliari, a city that plays a strategic role in our international development plans – said Carlos Munoz, President and Founder of Volotea -. Thanks to the opening of the base, we will further strengthen the connectivity of Sardinia: after the announcement of the 5 new routes for summer 2019, we are working to offer Sardinian travelers the possibility of flying even more easily throughout the year. To support the local economic fabric, thanks to the opening of the new base, about 50 new jobs are realized in Cagliari ». "We are reaping the benefits of a partnership born in 2012 that since the first weeks of operation of Volotea has led to important results in terms of traffic and passengers carried – said President SOGAER, Gabor Pinna -. Over the years we have consolidated relationships with Volotea by collaborating in a very focused and reasoned way to offer a range of destinations that could best meet the needs of the market. Volotea believed in the potential of Cagliari Airport and SOGAER believed in Volotea and in its business project that seemed tailor-made for our airport: the inauguration of the base is therefore a natural evolution of this partnership that allows us to look at with optimism to the future ".

(post_content) => All the indicators confirm it: Italians are more and more fond of their 4-legged friends.
According to the Eurispes 2019 survey, one third of the population lives with at least one pet, tending to be dogs and cats, and 76.8% of the owners consider them family members to all effects.
An increasingly widespread emotional bond, which is also reflected in tourism. In fact, 7 million "pets" travel each year with the family they live with, says the Assalco report of 2018, and almost half of the owners (46%) admit to choosing destinations that are pet welcoming.
It is no coincidence that this trend also has a significant impact on the number of accommodation facilities that host pets, growing by as much as 90% in some localities on the Adriatic coast. From this year, Cervia, with Milano Marittima and the entire municipal area, can be officially called the Pet Friendly Municipality.
The Municipality of Cervia, Inodorina and Confesercenti have joined forces to make the territory increasingly welcoming towards animal owners and citizens.
Shops, bars and restaurants, beaches and local hotels are in fact increasingly equipped to accommodate 4-legged friends, also thanks to the contribution of Confesercenti and Pet Village, a Ravenna-based company that owns the Inodorina brand.
If the association has gathered the availability of public businesses and accommodation facilities, Inodorina has invested in interventions to make the entire tourist resort pet friendly.
The facilities provided include dispensers with hygienic bags located on the waterfront and in the center, important interventions to support the kennel and the improvement of the areas of dislocation present in the territory.
The commercial activities that adhere to the “Cervia Milano Marittima Pet Friendly with Inodorina” project participate in the implementation of the program by distributing promotional and initiative support materials to citizens and tourists, including a welcome kit for animals.
On the communication front, a dedicated website and social pages are planned, on which it will be possible to keep up to date on the many initiatives planned during the summer season, such as the amateur parades for 4-legged friends and the organization of pet-friendly reception spaces on the occasion of events already included in the calendar.
