Wall Street stabilized Friday shortly after the opening, paying attention to a new salvo of quarterly results of companies listed on the New York Square.
Its leading index, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, yielded 0.05%, at 27,011.09 points, around 13:50 GMT.
The technology-rich Nasdaq was unchanged at 8,156.48 points and the broad S & P 500 index was up 0.06% to 2,999.89 points.
The New York Stock Exchange ended in the green Thursday, including reassured by a fragile compromise on the Brexit: the Dow Jones had grapple 0.09% and the Nasdaq had taken 0.56%.
The earnings season continued Friday on Wall Street with the publication of the quarterly health newsletter of Coca Cola, a member of the Dow Jones.
The soft drink giant has announced strong results and has been particularly optimistic for the whole year because of a steady rise in sales of its beverages around the world. Its share rose by 1.47%.
American Express has, for its part, delighted Wall Street by reporting a rise in consumer spending. Its title, another member of the Wall Street index, fell however 1.74%.
Financial players were also worried about a combination of threatening macroeconomic factors, according to Patrick O'Hare of Briefing.
The expert mentions in particular the slowdown in growth in China, whose GDP fell to 6% in the third quarter, its weakest performance for at least 27 years, the fragility of the Brexit compromise announced on Thursday or the persistence commercial uncertainties between Washington and Beijing.
"So far, the market has had a good week," says O'Hare, emphasizing the strong results posted by companies in the financial, industrial and health sectors.
In the bond market, the 10-year rate on US debt grew very slightly, to 1.753% against 1.752% Thursday at the close.
