Volkswagen reveals the eighth generation of Golf

You can't think of changing it that much. Volkswagen innovates a lot on design, launches new models (see T-Cross, T-Roc), but Golf is Golf and its own charismatic bodywork it is touched as little as possible. The contents, on the other hand, are always greater and the upgrade is at the highest point in the category, that C segment in which it has always been very close. Today the Golf 8 makes all the processes its own intelligent digitization, connectivity, assisted driving and hybrid engines which have so far been developed. In fact, today the Wolfsburg bestseller is a true Smart Golf.

Let's start with the engines. The new Golf will be the first Volkswagen to debut with five hybrid versions: three mild hybrid eTSI 110, 130 and 150 hp and two rechargeable plug-in eHybrid versions, with powers of 204 and 245 hp (the latter will be the Golf GTE). Then there will be two classic petrol turbos and two turbodiesels, also tame, in fact, starting from 90 and 110 hp respectively. There is something for everyone! Another essential element of the new Golf is "predictive intelligence". It means that the Car2X system, warning in advance of possible dangers, automatically activates the driver assistance devices. And these are so advanced that they can be activated up to 210 km / h speed!

Inside stands the Latest generation digital cockpit, which responds to voice input and integrates Alexa. Not only that, but thanks to the We Connect and We Connect Plus operating systems, streaming, web radio and other online services are available on board. Finally, there is no lack ofHead Up Display and Travel Assist to help those who drive in an active and intelligent way. Among the goodies, the three-zone climate control system, the Harman Kardon audio system and the ability to store driver settings via cloud, to recall them whenever the driver changes or gets behind the wheel of another vehicle.

The Volkswagen Golf Generation 8 is produced at the Autostadt of Wolfsburg, as always in these 45 years. The market launch is scheduled for December. We will certainly be back soon to talk about it!
