'Treelon' Musk buys 1 million trees to combat climate change

In the past few hours ISlon Musk bought a million trees for $ 1 million within a project known as TeamTrees which was promoted by a series of American YouTubers with the aim of combating climate change.
TeamTrees is in fact a project that aims to raise liquidity for the Arbor Day Foundation, with the goal of reaching 20 million dollars by the end of 2019 and planting 20 million trees from now until the end of 2022.

What is TeamTrees

At the time the project received financing for around 10.5 million trees, and the figure seems to be steadily increasing. The trees will be planted all over the world, obviously excluding the most difficult areas, with the aim of mitigating the effects of anthropogenic climate change and reducing the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Planting trees everywhere in the world could help solve the problem.

At the beginning of the year a group of researchers had declared that one global reforestation effort on 1.7 billion hectares of currently unused land, it could reduce 25% of the carbon dioxide present in our atmosphere. In that space, around one trillion trees could be planted, without invading land that is currently used for farming or agriculture.
TeamTrees has been launched Jimmy Donaldson, better known online under the pseudonym of MrBeast. In his YouTube channel, which has over 25 million subscribers, there are very special videos: as his fame grew (and his turnover) MrBeast began to make real philanthropic works. The latest initiative, TeamTrees, was born under the suggestion of a series of fans to reach 20 million subscribers.

The project is born after being rebounded from a series of American youtubers, and among the supporters we have some of the highest level. Elon Musk, renamed himself on Twitter Treelon for the occasion, he wrote that he would donated 1 million trees; but also other famous names in the technological environment such as Jack Dorsey, who donated 150 thousand dollars. Donaldson himself donated about $ 200,000 for the cause.
